Question about Game 6

I noticed that in the top of the ninth inning, Juan Pierre was called out for bunting a pitch into foul territory. I know it's a rule, but I've been watching baseball for years and I don't think I've ever seen that call before. Of course I mostly watch AL baseball, so that may explain it.

Am I just missing something, or is that not called very often?

1. A ball bunted foul with 2 strikes is a strikeout.

I didn't watch the game, but that's what probably happened.

Add: In Pierre's case, it was his third strike.

3. well it was in an AL park

so AL rules were in force. I dont remember the play, was the foul bunt his 3rd strike? If you have 2 strikes and you bunt foul, it is counted as a 3rd strike.

....explains you unfamiliarity with the rules of bunting.

Perhaps you should watch a few NL games and observe how real baseball is played.

I live in a town where I can have my choice of either watching NL and/or AL baseball.

I only follow the NL team.

I can't imagine how anyone could sit through an AL game. No bunting, no advancing runners, no stealing, no defence, no pinch-hitting, no flip-flopping the line-up.

It just seems like both teams play for the 3 run homer.

Well, OK. Maybe I am being a little snarky. But it stops at baseball.

AL players would not even have the opportunity from their third base coach.
