Ok, I really really need to fricking cry
this has been a sucky day!

Nothing is working right at work
I'm hurting cash wise because my local Toyota Dealership made me pay $80 for a diagnostic test to find out my gas cap wasn't screwed on twice. (If they knew the gas cap would cause a false "check engine" then why not check that first instead of charging me the $80)
I still have lingering affects of the plague!
I had some cafeteria guy keep hounding me when I said "NO" about a request I asked a friend to do (long story, but why do these people not stop after you tell them "no thank you". I finally had to be like "Please stop making an ass of me in front of these people - I said No!"

And to top things off - PMS!!

Seriously, I need a good cry!

8. I can't help with your cash flow problem . . .
but there's plenty of "natural stuff" you can do about the PMS. (You can PM me for more about that.) And a good cry would be a good stress reliever.

12. don't cry
come on down to costa rica instead, and lay on the beach for a few weeks.

remember: costa rica is free of freeper filth. you should see the great anti-bush graffiti everywhere in san jose. and not far from the university of costa rica, there is a park named after JFK and an elementary school named after FDR. i'm pretty sure they will never name anything here after bush, except maybe a garbage dump.

14. Damn it, I wish they'd warn everyone about the gas cap thing...
This is one of those things they bury in the "check engine" light section in Saturn manuals. Last time I bought a vehicle though, the customer service person warned me about the gas cap thing before I even drove it off the lot. And it has happened to me about twice now--and I recheck the gas cap and the light goes off. If not, then it needs the test.

But damn it, the dealers should warn everyone about this before they pay for the diagnostics.. Call and complain...it can't hurt.

18. I am complaining
If this is a none problem then why not check the gas cap first before recommending expensive tests. I mean, when the guy told me what it was he was like "Yeah, we've seen this before when was the last time you purchased gas (btw - 10 days ago, I live less than 2 miles from work).

It just seems if they know about this glitch it woult have taken 5 seconds to fix it (and save me $80). I'm usually not this hurting on cash, but I'm seeing a personal trainer to help get this excessive weight off my body so right now - every penny counts!!

19. I'm surprised they don't charge you for retightening the gas cap.

The check engine light is a racket money maker for service departments (anywhere from $80.00 - $135.00).

All that little machine does is give them a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC), to tell them what the problem is; most often it's emissions control related.

http://www.obdii.com/dtcanatomy.html

http://www.obdii.com/codes.asp

Next time anyone gets a check engine light (after checking the gas cap):

For models 1996 and newer...

If there's an Auto-Zone in your area, they'll check it for free. The scanner will display the code and a brief description of the problem.

With that info (if you can't fix the problem yourself), you can go to the repair shop armed with the DTC and inform them that there's no need for them to check and charge you for a code scan.

http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=/az/in_our_stores/free_testing.jsp

On some model cars with a digital odometer you can check the code by flipping the ignition key from on-off-on-off-on within a few seconds.
The code will be displayed on the odometer. It's easy enough to check the code online.

If you have a tool fetish (like me B-) ), you can buy your own scanner for less than $100.00.

http://www.actron.com/product_detail.php?pid=16298

Usually the check engine light will go off once the problem is corrected. If not, it can be erased with the scanner. Otherwise, disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery will clear the check engine light.

15. GO FOR IT! Cry!!! Purge all that out in tears...then have some ice cream!
:D

Tears are the natural way to release toxins. Maybe you could beat a pillow, too, to get out the anger. And then after that, there is NOTHING ice cream won't make some better!

16. I've been crying too....
My dear cousin called this morning with bad news about her job and a nervous breakdown. She's a computer/management arrangement wiz. She re-organized her whole division, only to find that she had also kicked her job out the window, after she was promised a promotion for her excellent job. Worse, her boss gave her job to her own own little sister, a recent college graduate. My cousin is 57. At her age, where is she going to find a job that pays her well?

I have cried my eyes out with her. She's looking at me for strength. I'm trying to keep my kool.

LynneSin: I'm crying for you too.
