1. Yep.
It'll be my last time watching the show, though. The plots are just too much lately. So over the top...

3. Yes, I will -- and I agree.
From "The United States is facing a nuclear holocaust" to ":* I can't live without you ... I love you ... :*" in 0.2 seconds.

:puke:

7. My husband watches that show.
I don't really watch it. It's a little too manic for me.

4. I stopped watching. Has any one noticed they all say
"nuc-cu-lar" just like GWB on this Fox show? I am curious as to why. Most people I know, at least before GWB said "nu-cle-ar."

Or am I just seeing conspiracies where there are none?

5. I coulda sworn they used to pronouce it correctly.
They've apparently switched to bumpkin-speak on the word 'nuclear'.

14. Actually we've been watching seasons 1-3 on dvd lately
and Jack says it correctly in the other seasons. I made sure to listen because he pronounces the nucular in the current season. Did BushCo threaten the writers of the show to force Jack to pronounce it wrong this season?

Thank you!

I KNEW I remembered he used to know how to say it!

Maybe it was shooting all that smack... maybe it killed more brain cells than they like to let on... ;)

21. It's so weird.
And I'm pretty sure Kiefer Sutherland is a liberal. His mom is really politically active for progressive causes in Canada. I imagine she raised him right. So why would he agree to suddenly pronouncing it wrong?

11. Do you think the nuke will explode and kill US citizens?
I'm not sure... Perhaps they'll destroy it before it reaches target...

13. I doubt it
Though it would be interesting to see them actually detonate a nuke for once instead of merely threatening. It would certainly be shocking and novel.

17. No, rent the dvds.
The season finale won't mean much to you without having seen the other episodes. I actually recommend starting with season one. They're fun to watch on dvd and no commercials.

19. Has anyone else noticed who that woman is?
Since we've watched all the seasons on dvd so close together, we realized that the girl that just took Tony hostage is also:

•the woman who blew up the plane carrying the photographer who was going to have the photo session with Palmer so they could replace him with an assassin/lookalike in season 1.

•the woman who's girlfriend tried to extort more money out of Gaines (also in season 1) and ended up getting shot by the sniper. At which point Gaines forces her into doing "one more job" but you never get to find out what it is.

•the woman who shook President Palmer's hand at the end of season 2 and nearly killed him with that virus or acid or whatever it was.

Just prior to that happening, when the bad guy on the yacht realizes his plan is not working and the U.S. is not going to war with the Middle East (which he was trying to orchestrate to increase his oil profits), he says "That's okay, we'll go about it another way." So we see the woman attempt to kill Pres. Palmer in the season 2 finale but the next season doesn't seem to have anything to do with America going to war in the Middle East. So what is the "go about it another way" thing all about? And is this current season now tied into that- given that the same woman is now involved and it's ALSO a nuclear threat and it's ALSO involving the Middle East? I'll be very curious to see how it plays out, because the end of season 2 was never fully resolved and I believe it may be connected. It should be very exciting.

By the way, I looked that character up on imdb.com and it IS the same woman all three seasons (Mia Kirshner) and the character has the same name ("Mandy") all three seasons.

31. Interesting
I'm watching season 3 on DVD right now and as soon as it began, I was like :wtf: because season 2 ended in such a way that I thought we'd be learning about whatever felled the Pres and what the "other way" was and all that, yet this season seems to have no relation to it. Suddenly, it's 3 years later, Jack is a (very unconvincing) junkie and the whole thing at the end of season 2 was wrapped up in a couple of lines when the President's brother talks of how Palmer caught the guy who tried to kill him from his sickbed or something along those lines. It seemed like they'd planned on continuing the story then changed their mind.

I haven't watched this season since it's on too late for me (I go to work at 4 am) - I rent it when it comes out on DVD and watch it straight through.

20. So, the question I have is:
With all the shit these terrorists are doing, why aren't they bombing their country out of existence? We did that with BinLaden, and even Saddam, who did nothing to us...

23. Yes yes yes!
I wouldn't miss it.

Interesting revelation from last week-- Palmer and that cheney-esque guy are in cahoots. I wonder where that is leading?

Another loose end is that arab teenager. What's going to happen with him?

I hate the romantic crap too. Looks like Jack will be "Alone Again, Naturally" since he blew that relationship big time by killing Paul.

What I want to see in the romance department is:

HOT MONKEY SEX BETWEEN EDGAR AND CHLOE!!!!!!

24. Well I don't actually want to see it but I would LOVE if if Edgar
and Chloe hooked up. They'd be like the weird couple. I love it!

I think Palmer and Mike Novick were only in cahoots to keep the Speaker from questioning Logan's authority any further. I think Logan was in on the ruse as well, but we'll see.

Yeah, what's going to happen to Behruz (sp?), he sorta dropped off the face of the earth. Actually Sec. Heller did too for a long time, so long that I was starting to wonder if he was actually involved somehow. I'm still not 100% convinced he ISN'T.

As far as the romantic crap goes, I wouldn't mind it so much if I didn't want to smack Audrey so bad. She drives me nuts and I hope she dumps Jack because I want her to leave the show.

On a similar note, since they got Tony and Michelle back together, do you think they're going to kill Tony off? I'm so afraid they are! WAH!

25. I'm afraid you're probably right about Tony.
NOBODY lives happily ever after on 24. They are setting us up for a fall!!!

I bet Marwan(sp?) lives to see another day on 24. He will probably be the arch villain again next season.

29. It's the SAME bomb threat, since the whole season happens on ONE day
That's why it's called "24."

Sometimes I wonder why they're still wearing the same clothes after a few months, then I remember it's still the same day. (D'oh!)

Mia Kirshner, one of the original terrorists from season one. Always great to see her on the show, because you know something big's gonna happen. Easy on the eyes, too. ;)
