Yup, my parents are nuts.
Edited on Mon May-23-05 05:16 PM by HEyHEY
So, my parents were in town this weekend. They were at the cabin but came into town. It marked the first time my folks have actually visited a place I lived. I had always lived too far away for them to visit.
Within five minutes, Dad was telling me "What the problem with my toilet is" and I caught mom going through my dirty laundry hamper, "looking for missing towels."
As I was outside with Dad, mom (Who NEVER stops cleaning, building, yardwork - you name it) comes out of the garage holding a box of stuff I haven't decided if I want or not.
"You wanna go through this and keep what you want?" She said, prepared to throw the rest out.

It's fucking nuts... they managed to turn my house into the house I grew up in during a 15 minute time frame.

8. You need to hook up with my parents
On the extremely rare occasions they have visited (I'm in Houston, they're either in Montreal or Ft. Lauderdale), my dad watched the Golf Channel and my mom took us shopping at ridiculously cool stores and bought us everything we looked like we were looking at.

We did treat them to dinner at a very swanky place though. :D

9. Your parents watch golf?
I assumed NBC went to all that expense just for my parents, as I believed they were the only ones watching it.

11. TV golf is lame
Im fact, I hold the entire sport in suspicion of lameness. Curling, Bowling anc Bocce are better sports

12. My dad plays golf, and watches it whenever he can't play
His handicap's down to 7 or 8, it's disgusting. Mom tags along once or twice a year.

My mom's a semi-professional card shark. Bridge is her game, although I've heard tales of dead bodies in her wake from a particularly vicious canasta tournament. One of her goals in life is kick Bill Gates' arse online - she read somewhere he plays bridge too. :P

7. The float is catching the plug causing it to run
I gotta adjust the float a bit, but no too much or else I may end up not getting enough water in the tank to flush properly.

6. That brings back memories
It's the exact reason I moved out as fast as I could after college. I have my parents stay at my aunt's house when they visit.

10. Be nice to your parents
they are the only ones you will ever have.

They put up with your dirty diapers, your two year old "no" stage, and a whole lot of other things in your childhood, that I presume you have not experienced yet.

Is that presumption correct? Do you have children now?

Your parents sound as if they care about you.

13. For years, every time I went to my parents house
my mother would drag out a box of my "stuff" for me to take. Didn't want it, didn't want to get rid of it. Now its in my basement. Finally they gave me all my stuff... must be in the parents guidebook or something!
