For Horse Players (Gambling)
Edited on Tue May-24-05 08:46 AM by BlueJazz
Boy..I know you've heard "Horse Track Stories" before but this one takes the cake.

One of a customers told me this one about his Brother that happened last Friday night.

His brother sold this Guy a computer for 300 bucks.
He takes the check to the bank and tells the Teller to cash the check and put it all in his account. (In Florida at Bank of America, you can do this and the dough goes straight into your account..no waiting....I do it all the time if the check is from the same bank)

Anyway, his brother goes to the night races and along about the 5 race plays a "Pick 3"... First part...18 to one...second part... 12 to one.
In the third and final race, His Brother has 6 horses (out of 8).
The smallest "Pick 3" he has is paying 3200 bucks.. Cool!

He doesn't have the 5 or the 7 horse (Nags) so he says to himself "Shoot ..I'll go and get 100 from the ATM and put 50 on each one to win.
He goes to get the money..."Insufficiant Funds"
It dawns on him that the #$%@#$ teller just put the check in to clear overnight and didn't cash the thing first.

Of course..you know what happened ..65 to one shot wins the race (7) pays 133 dollars (for 2 bucks). He's standing there broke..Aggg!

Man..o..Man..o..Man...I'd would want to do some serious ass-kicking...

1. I got one - 2002, War Emblem is going for the Triple Crown
at Belmont. I'm in line to bet on the clubhouse side.

A guy at the front of the line, who I later notice looks a lot like Ken McPeek, turns half way back from the window so that everyone can hear him and tells the clerk loudly that he wants, "$150 to win on number 12!"

Some intoxicated guys near him start to give him a little shit, "wasting your money" so he goes on.

Clerk: Anything else?

Guy: Yeah! a $5 exacta box, number (louder than before) 12 with everything.

So everybody saw it. He made sure we did. Guys are plunking down huge foolish show bets and huge win bets on War Emblem, sure that the guy above has just wasted $250 on some horse with absolutely no shot.

Of course Sarava won. The guy's win bet paid $10,687.50. His exacta box which cost him $100 total, paid $6,135.00.

2. Wow!...
Yep..I see folks playing the favorites in those (3) "Triple crown events" and I think "Have you ever looked back and seen how many times the Favorites run One/Two in those Races"?? (Very Rare)
..Waste of money..
