Fuck United Parcel Service to Death!
I just received a commercial shipment. The total value of the contents is US$30. UPS charged a combined "handling/brokerage fee" to cross the Canadian Border of $81.03, roughly double the value of the crummy item they shipped. Oh, and that's in addition to the cost of shipping the item, which was US$14.

I will never, ever deal with UPS again. And I told them that, as well, although I was met with as much assistance as Michael Moore at a Skull and Bones mixer.

Damn threm all to hell!

1. So it' wasn't a customs or duty charge, but a separate huge UPS charge?
If the latter, that's insane.

3. here
Duty: $0 (exempt under NAFTA)
Federal Goods and services tax: $2.10
Provincial Sales tax $2.30

All the rest goes into UPS's fat little brown pockets.

And, why the FUCK am I paying provincial sales taxes on items which aren't for sale in this country? If I could buy them locally, I would.

By their logic, I should pay my provincial sales tax if I stay in a hotel in Boston.
(end rant)

6. UPS
always rips off our Canadian neighbors - USPS doesn't charge those outlandish fees. I won't ship UPS anymore.

7. I just received a shipment that had an item damaged. After
6 phone calls and 6 DIFFERENT answers, I asked "Did you guy lay off all your experienced employees or just cut out training?

8. I stopped using UPS when they stopped delivering
on Saturdays. Use USPS instead - cheaper and just as reliable per my experience.
