I'm from another planet. Please explain something to me.

What is this "music" concept? It makes no real logical sense to me. Please help me-- I have to finish a report on your species, including all relevant cultural details.

So far, my report isn't looking too good. Hope the mothership comes back soon. Frankly, your world scares the gort out of me!

I really pissed off a film editor friend who's a big Charlie Kaufman idolator, etc., by suggesting that "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" was not the best possible treatment of the source material.

Someone there may be able to explain the logic of it.

Music is one of the few things that make this planet habitable at the moment. But that is the emotional, not the technical explanation.
