1. Other
I'm just ok with beets. I can take them or leave them. But I used to really like pickled beets when I was a kid.

5. I Wish You Could Buy the Greens Separately
They are the absolute best. To enough for a decent bowl, though, you have to buy something like ten pounds of beets.

Beets make a great cold salad with cooked carrots and Moroccan seasonings (olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, cumin, cayenne, etc)

18. I Wish I Knew Where
Any suggestions? Organic food stores, maybe? I even go to Asian supermarkets, some of which have 30 kinds of leafy vegetables, and have never seen them.

14. orange (citrus) sauce on beets is good too
pop 'em in the pressure cooker for about 10 minutes on light steam pressure and they come out perfect.

17. a tiny bit of beet juice is good for turning lemonade pink...
... without the stigma of resorting to artificial food dye.

Aside from that, beets are awfully sweet-tasting for me, though I'll choke a few slices down if they're what's served.

Also, they smell kind of unwholesome.

20. Bush supposedly hates beets
Just like his dad loathed broccoli. I've taken to planting some around the house -- and sure enough, it's been more than 4 years and he hasn't even come to my city yet.

I find the standard red beets kind of messy, so I grow the white salad kind. (Probably not as good for me, though -- not as much antioxidant content?)

no one else in my family will eat them, so I only make them when I know I'm having guests that will eat them.
