Guess what was in my husband's salad from Jack in the Box?
Edited on Thu May-26-05 11:22 AM by prozacnation
No, not a finger. However, right in the middle of eating it he bit into something hard and took it out of his mouth. "Honey what's this" were his exact words. Exactly what it is remains to be seen. It looks like a 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch piece of hard white plastic, could be a piece of a floor mat, or something like that. It has a criss cross pattern on the front of it.

Anyway, I called Jack's headquarters and they want me to send the item to their quality control so they can "investigate" and call me with a report. Do you think I should give it up?

We have no plans for a frivolous lawsuit. On the other hand if it turns out to be some toxic nasty thing will Jack in the crack really tell us?

This is why I hate eating out.

1. How about e-mailing some digital pics?
From various angles, with a ruler to indicate scale, etc.

2. It doesn't sound as if your husband has any damages.
Did he hurt his tooth?

9. Nope, no damage just grossed out
We're not looking to collect money. I did call the health department and they are going to do a surprise inspection.

Cross one more fast food place off my list. We've already stopped eating Mc Donalds, KFC, Burger King and Taco Bell. Not because we found anything in the food, just because the food is bad. Good thing there's always In and Out Burger.

3. I chipped a tooth last year on an unidentified "hard thing" in my
Taco Bell meal. That's the price I pay for eating crappy fast food. I would have complained, but I had no proof because I never found the "hard thing", i think it was a bone chip or something. They don't call it "grade-F meat-like substance" for nothing.

4. Mmmmm...criss cross pattern croutons.
Approximately 20 years ago, my ex-girlfriend and I ate together at Jack In The Box. We both got a really bad case of food poisoning...don't know exactly what it was in the meal that caused it...but I've never set foot in a Jack In The Box since.

I've also sworn off McDonalds, Burger King, and Taco Bell, and have NEVER eaten in a Wendy's.

Because...well, I know PEOPLE...and they have STORIES.

5. Could it be part of a pail?

The kind they get their bulk food items in?

Could be they opened one up kind of rough and a part of it broke off.

8. Mail it to them and forget about it
You will have done your good deed for the day and anyway life is too short to dwell on a piece of white plastic in a salad from Jack in the Box.
