Name A Movie That *SHOULD* Have Had A Sequel...But Didn't.
Also... what movie sequels should have NEVER been made?

I think that that the ending of Thelma & Louise should have been vague enough that it left open the possibility for a sequel. I also wonder what a sequel to Moonstruck might have been like.

Two of them, one is called Blade Runner II, "The Edge of Human" and the other one is called "Replicant Night".

but the movie (and i suppose the consequent marketing tie-in books you mentioned) didn't really even scratch the surface of what dick was expressing.

26. True
There was a show that used to be on TV (Fuck, totally forgot the name!) about a cop w/ an android partner that was really good and I thought carried on the Blade Runner tradition and concepts pretty well...Damn, the name is bugging me now!

8. I almost always despise sequels
Most of them lack imagination and are simply a rehash of a formula that worked the first time. So I'd say the great majority of sequels should never have been made and I can't think of a single movie that I'd like to see a sequel to.

10. This one might not be a big pick
I just got out of high school when "The Breakfast Club" was released. I would like to see them take those people and make them 40 or so. See what happened to them. I think they might have talked about a sequel at one time.

Edited on Thu May-26-05 01:16 PM by Tyrone Slothrop
If you can give them a decent script for "The Graduate II".

Hollywood's been dying to make a sequel to it for the past 40 years and imagining the avalanche of baby-boomers descending on multi-plexes across the country.

Of course, no one's been able to write anything close to a passable script for said movie.

On edit: This is probably as close as they'll ever get. Rumor Has It - out later this year.

17. Midnight Run in the style of "My Dinner With Andre"
Just Jack Walsh and Johnathan Mardukas chatting for 2 hours maybe with Alonzo Mosley as the waiter. It'd likely be the BEST MOVIE EVER!

I'm sorry you're hurt
I'm not hurt.
I just asked if you were hurt and you said you were hurt.
Well that's because you made me say it, you're starting to put words in my mouth
You're a grown man Jack, you have control over your own words.
You're goddamn right I do, so here come two words for you, 'shut the fuck up!"

Or better yet remake the original to better fit the novel trilogy then make the other two (you might actually be able to do it in 2 movies).
