Who else here loves flea markets?
I love flea markets, antique stores, junk shops, thrift stores, you name it, if it's got neat old stuff I love looking at it!

Anyone else here love shopping at flea markets? Got any good stories of bargains?

1. Flea markets, garage sales, estate sales...
auctions, roadside antique stores...

I'm a junkie.

;)

I can stop any time I want too, really.

2. I adore flea markets
I used to go to a lot of them when I lived in Vermont - there are a couple here in Cal that I've dropped into but the stuff isn't as good. Most of it is just new stuff that people are trying to sell in an open venue, not neat OLD stuff like I'd find in VT.

I bought a nine volume set of the collected works of Abraham Lincoln for five dollars at a flea market once - I was walking with my two small kids and had to carry it about 2 miles home but it was worth it! I've gotten a lot of neat old books at flea markets.

I also love thrift stores. I HATE to shop but thrift stores are different - it's like going through a friend's closet.

3. I do - I love looking at everyday things from the past
Sometimes just the style and design of regular things like phones or kitchen appliances are really cool and different than they are today. I'm also becoming mildly addicted to e-bay, but I haven't really bought much yet.

5. I love them!
I also love auctions, garage sales, etc. It's a treasure hunt.

My best buy ever was at a garage sale - a set of LeCreuset pots and pans for $10

6. My best buy was an untouched set
of my mother's (plate) discontinued silver pattern for $45, in a box. It doubled the size of her service.
