Oh by God. By dog is sick.
I'b having to breathe through by nose!

We got hobe tonight, and Fargo evidently did not feel well today. The sbell hit be first thing when I walked in; wasn't sure who the culprit was.

Ever clean up a giant Pyrenees turd on the carpet before? Heavenly, I'b telling you. Plus he barfed on his bed. Thank goodness for battress covers.

Anyone have any foolproof spot reeboover suggestions? I gotta go light sub candles.

35. Your babies are adorable.
I thought about getting a Pug or a Corgi before we got Fargles, but I had wanted a big dog my whole life, and my parents would never get me one.

Someday maybe we'll get him a pal to play with.

2. I used to work in a kennel
80 dogs with kennel sickness, vomiting and diarrhea have got to somewhat compare, only difference being it was in THEIR house and not mine.

You have my sympathy.

And if something is VERY badly stained, Lestoil is a good last resort (disclaimer--strong smell, petrochemical base, definitely last resort.)

7. You are BRAVE! Keeping a Pyrenees in the house....
I can't imagine.

While I was attending classes in college, my Great Pyrenees broke into the house (I had not pulled the door shut, evidently) after she had been swimming in the creek. She pulled my comforter off of my bed, brought it into the living room, where she rolled around and evidently watched TV all day.

And she ate two library books, which cost me about $200 to replace.

You are REAAAALLLLY brave to allow your GP to stay inside. :hi:

8. He's usually SUCH a good boy.
He loves us so buch and he's such a good watchdog. We got hib frob Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue.

He's cobpletely housebroken, and only has a pee pee accident once in awhile when the really scary thunderstorbs cub through and have house-shaking thunder with theb.

Since we're in Texas, it would be cruel to keep hib outside all day. It's just too freaking hot. He's a very spoiled boy. Has his own roob, with his own bed, and a separate doggie bed next to ours in our bedroob.

Then, there's the couch, which is his second hobe. He's a bona-fide couch potato. Thank goodness I had a blanket over the couch today. Nothing happened on here, but it COULD have.

Sorry about your GP being a little bore rabbunctious! I never want to be without one after having hib. All other dogs pale in cobparison to by Fargles!

it was a joke. You know...a humorous thing meant to produce a chuckle?

When you hold you nose and talk through your mouth (see post #1 where I mention that's what I'm doing) your m's sounds like b's. Get it?

No, it's not freaking permanent. :eyes: Is it easy to walk around with that broomstick up your butt? I'm just curious.

Which contradicts your claim to be holding your nose.

I keep my broom in the closet and by doing so avoid any walking difficulties.

20. eewww
that sucks. One of our dogs is a lab mix (don't know the other half)and she is very sensitive to some foods. Ever see a dog projectile vomit? Especially when there is red food coloring in the food? She did it straight for about four hours one day the house stunk like hell.

I had to use our carpet steam cleaner to get the stains out. Nothing else would 1. get the stain out and 2. get the smell out.

Good luck.

24. Where did your "m's" go?
Edited on Fri May-27-05 08:28 AM by Shell Beau
I have had to do that before though. I had to take my dog to the vet b/c he ended up being very sick. For a while, they didn't know if he would live. But he pulled through. He was only a puppy, so that made it more touch and go! Hope your dog feels better!

On edit I read an earlier reply about the "m's" and I get it (ha!).

26. Glad your doggie is bettter!
Edited on Fri May-27-05 08:32 AM by fudge stripe cookays
We think that because of the thunderstorms the day before, his tummy was a little upset already. Then, reprehensor gave him some canned food the next night, so he may have had some residual problems.

He appears to be better now, though.

We took him out in the front yard last night and hosed down his hindquarters ("Wooh! Woh! What are you doing back there??!" was his reaction). Then took a bunch of towels and dried him off.

Looks like we may have more storms today. Who knows what we'll find when we get home? It ain't easy having a scaredy cat dog.

30. I prepared a roast one time and had
it sitting on the counter ready to eat. I had to run out of the house for 15 minutes. When I came back the whole roast was gone and there were piles among piles of dog poo. Yep, my dog ate the whole roast and his stomach didn't take too kindly to it. He was a very large dog and could hurdle the back yard fence when he felt like it, so counters were not a problem for him. He usually knew better, but the temptation got to him. No roast for me and my husband, but after the rank smell in the house, we had no appetite anymore.

32. Fargo did that the first week we had him...
We'd gotten one of those ready-to-eat chickens at the supermarket and had it sitting on the counter.

We were in the living room eating, and heard a crash in the kitchen; he devoured all the leftovers within minutes. We watched him to be careful because of the tiny chicken bones, but he was OK.

Did I mention? Fargo LOOOOOOOOOVES chicken. It's his absolute favorite. We learned that the hard way! Good thing we'd already gotten our servings off that bird!

33. Isn't it funny how dogs have faves.
One of my dogs loves chocolate. I don't give it to him, but if I had a steak in one hand and a chocolate bar in the other, he would take the chocolate. He will be outside and he can smell when I have something chocolate. He loves anything sugary. Occasionally, I will give him peanut butter. I'm bad I know. He got the taste of chocolate one time when I left a small open bag of m&m's on the counter. He ate every last one of them.

I got reprehensor some chocolates for Valentines Day, and like a doofus left them in the bag from the bookstore on the dining room table.

Fargo broke open the box and savored the milky richness of Godiva that afternoon. At least we know he has good taste! :D

FWIW, I saw something at the pet store recently that was some sort of carob substitute for dogs; maybe your doggie would like that? We chocoholics have to stick together, even the four-pawed ones!
