Danica Patrick

Will anyone else be watching the Indy 500 just to see how she does?

I have no real interest in motor sports, but I'll be rooting for Danica. If she were to win on Sunday, it would easily be the biggest sports story of the year.

It would also probably be the single greatest accomplishment ever by a woman in sports.

Anyway, go Danica! Make some history.

1. though in Indy
I didn't follow the time trials. Wasn't until today, belatedly checking out the race lineup, that I had ever heard of her. I was sad when Sarah Fisher stopped running close, and eventually lost her ride in the IRL. And suddenly there is this new woman - and in the first position in the second row. Essentially 4th best starting position out of 33. Yes, I will be listening (can't watch it in this region - media black out and all). There have only been two women to race in the Indy500 that I know of, and neither had such a high pole position. She has already made history, I believe. And it would be great to see an even more significant moment in sports history.

2. Nah.. I won't be watching, because
I'm not really into to motor sports. I am interested in how well she does in the race, but I'll just check the news for that information.

3. Sara Fisher is working her way up in NASCAR
Maybe she will soon be driving a Everham Dodge Charger.

On of my more memorable moments in sports was when Lynn St James was having a really good race and another racer wrecklessly went into a corner and knocked her out of the race. I'll always remember St. James jumped out of the wreckage like a mad hornet looking for that guy.
