Ok Lounge. Need some songs to buy for my Ipod. Turn me on to something!
I like many different styles of music, with the exception of country. Mostly harder stuff, but I like everything from Jazz to metal, new age to punk, Indian to hip hop. All depends on my mood.

I'm logged on to Itunes and will listen to the recommendations if I've not heard of them and see if I want to buy :)

Today I've downloaded

BYOB - System of a Down
Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day
Cemetary Gates - Pantera
Mina Loy - Billy Corgan
Fall to Pieces - Velvet Revolver
Blood and Roses - The Smithereens
I Melt with You - Modern English
Intergalactic - Beasty Boys
Little by Little - Oasis

14. "Pearl" is my favorite Muses song.
I'm not a big Throwing Muses fan, though, so take that with a grain of salt.

2. How about some Liam Clancy? Reportedly Bob Dylan said he was the
best Irish folk singer alive. He has some beautiful tunes out there and a voice that would make your heart stop (almost).

Monkey's gone to heavan by the Pixies

I am sure I will think of others. The SOAD album is awesome. The new Interpol is also excellent. :headbang:

11. Mudvayne, "Blue Skin" and any Sevendust
We're talking really hard stuff.

A fun band that's just a bass player and a drummer is Death From Above 1979.

12. Todd Snider...I know you said no country
But he's mostly folk, and clever, insightful, and funny as hell. I'd recommend a listen. He won me with a song called something like "White Christian Conservative Men". He'd give you a chuckle or two.

Etta James is easy on the ears, also.

13. Pretty much anything by Tool
I'm particularly fond of "Forty-six & 2" and "Stinkfist" but pretty much everything off of their Aenima and Lateralus albums is good.

17. Any Richard Thompson album, Try the "Exclusive songs for iTunes"
or "Live from Providence-EP", Tom Paxton's "Live from Mountain Stage: Tom Paxton", Zero 7's "Simple Things Remixes", Seal's "Rare Singles Collection", Afroskull's "Monster for the Masses", "Verve Remixed", "Verve Remixed 2" (these are jazz songs remixed as dance songs), Bob James Trio "Take It from the Top" (Jazz), Dave Matthews Band "Stand Up" (if you have iTunes 4.8 you can get the video & album insert), "Spamalot' (the stage version of "Monty Python and The Holy Grail"), Eric Clapton's "Selections from Me and Mr. Johnson - EP", Fourplay "Journey" (Jazz) There are lots more that I could recommend but I think that's enough for now. Here's one of my imix's if you're interested.

pretty damn scathing... and it's free.

Or pay 99 cents for John Prine's "Your Flag Decal Won't Get You Into Heaven Anymore"

"Happy Wanderer" by Brave Combo is going to give you a major earworm
