10. because they had to. Probably the greatest invention of all time.
Just a way for people to trade. They needed a medium of exchange that was more universal for growers, manufacturers and merchants. It was a common denominator and allowed people of all endeavors to trade unlike goods in a like atmosphere.

12. Money gave birth to credit if that's what you mean
credit is a good thing too. Way out of control but the Idea of credit can move the world forward. Sustainability in money and credit is what is lacking.
