Human beings have tolerances to all utility. That tolerance does and will be pushed to further extremes once you can no longer get the same fix on your particular brand of vice. The snowballed effect of searching out more and more extreme porn, directly focused on your particular brand of perversion is a method slowly and evenly refined. Yet you will refine that, until you end up with a one armed midget peeping out of a toilet bowl, with light-pink tranluscent lipstick on for $10 a month.

Because millions of adult enjoy adult entertainment from time to time - they aren't "addictied" they don't "search out harder and harder porn", or any of the other things you are asserting.

What I learned from the stuff on Pay-Per-View is that you can see as much of a woman as you'd like but there will be very little of the man exposed.

Put another way, If you don't look like the chick in the Victorias Secret ad, don't expect me to act like the guy in the soap opera!

Porn (and the rest of our media as well) does seem to idealize specific looks that may not have any bearing in your reality.

I have a running joke with my husband about that the lady in that Bow-flex ad ("I'm fifty years old and a grandma") wearing that tiny little bikini around the pool. I always ask him if I get a Bow-flex and work out faithfully until I look like her, will he be willing to work out until he's twenty something again like her boy pal in the ad...

It sounds odd, but I think there are people who do not stop to think about the pressure that porn puts on men and women to look or act a specific way.

I don't usually run around the house in a few inches of lace adorned butt-floss, and my husband has days he doesn't feel like shaving. It doesn't make us less sexual, but it does mean that we have to remember that when we turn on any programming and start comparing ourselves to it.

It really isn't much different than the old days of Father Knows Best when the wife wore pearls and high heels to run her Hoover...
