2. Big jerk!
You stole my joke. (I was gonna say, "Not Kate Pierson, but maybe one of the others...")

4. Jerk?! I know I'm larger than life, but a jerk?
 (mostly a  for curtailing the obvious innuendo and double-entendres that Paul Lynde I am famous for... )

:D

5. Rather a sick subject for Memorial day
yes, there are double innuendos involved. I still find the post totally distasteful for this holiday.

7. Of course, one could argue...
that Memorial Day is itself rather sick, considering that it's a holiday that promotes militaristic nationalism. Not to mention the fact that the US has only been involved in three necessary wars in its history (the Revolution, the Civil War and WWII)...so most of the men being honoured really died for nothing. Can't help but think of Ezra Pound: "There died a myriad/And of the best, among them/For an old bitch gone in the teeth/For a botched civilisation"...

8. I watched Sargent York again today
and thought of the questions in his mind and his duty to pay unto Ceaser what is due to Ceaser. Like our soldiers today, Bush has rallied them to some patriotic non-existing cause. Iraq was never a threat, and we should not be there dying. See www.icasualties.org

Bush has sacrificed our kids without cause but that does not lessen our respect for their deaths. In my case, it only increases my anger at this globalist king.

10. Of course.
It's not THEIR fault. Lied into war, their love of country cynically exploited...told that what they're doing is right, and necessary, and that America will not be secure otherwise. Greedy, cynical old men have been leading their countries' youth to the slaughter for millenia now; nothing really new here. It's still a great and terrible shame, though.

9. Just so we are clear here
a B-52 is equipment, plain and simple. It does not (and never did) live and breathe.

I mourn the loss of the troops...I feel great rage for the current adminstration's lack of ethics in deploying troops to fight this war.

And I honor all veterans, as they truly have no autonomy, they are (or were) following orders, when disobeying orders could have major legal ramifications.

11. Then may I suggest you quit
such posts against the B 52 on Memorial Day? Many do not find it a humorous subject.

6. No, because I rarely destroy my own property
And I figure since I pay my taxes, I helped pay for the B-52.
