Do something subversive for Memorial Day!
Plant a garden.

Grow some food that's not trucked cross country through the corporate distribution system.

If you can't plant a garden, find your local farmers' market.

1. support your local organic farmers
they're around, and the quality of their produce and eggs exceeds anything you can find in the supermarket.

2. We settle for local
Our eggs come from the feed store where the proprieter sells eggs for the local farmers as a courtesy. Best eggs ever. I don't know if they're organic (I suspect the local farmers don't know from organic) but they sure taste like they're from happy chickens. These eggs have deep orange yolks that sit right up instead of flattening like the yolks in store eggs.
