A Memorial Day memory for my fellow vets...
Edited on Sun May-29-05 12:23 PM by giant_robot
Chili Mac. I made it last night. Every veteran who's ever eaten in a mess hall has either had it or seen it. It has a funny way of growing on you. As I sit here eating lunch, those spicy noodles are taking me back to another time! :patriot:

2. Of course! You had to have lots of bread and butter with the chili mac...
...and those steam tables sure did strange things to the veggies. Green beans are *not* supposed to be soggy or that unnatural shade of green.

And happy Memorial Day right back atcha! Thanks for your service!

3. Complete with saltpeter!
Although, I have read that is an urban legend. And, if it was in the food, it wouldn't have affected me except to give me a migraine.

4. Really? I heard it was in the coffee, and I didn't believe it...
...not that I would have given up coffee even if there was strychnine in it.

Thanks for your service! :patriot:

5. We heard it was in the food, and in the coffee
I believed it, then. I think I read it in snopes that it was an urban legend.
