I'm baaaaaack...
Anybody miss me? :beer:

Had a lovely vacation...the first in 9 years, so it was way overdue.
I'm refreshed and ready to face reality again. :-)

8. We spent 5 days at Disney
then another 4 in Melbourne with my father-in-law.

My 6 year old was in seventh heaven! His favorite park was the Magic Kingdom; and he especially enjoyed Tomorrowland.

We stayed in one of the hotels at the resort...Port Orleans Riverside...and the roses blooming around our building were gorgeous!

11. hmmm ... I do love Spring in Florida.
Staying inside the resort is a wonderful way to save time. Last time I was there ~ it was a world unto itself. Everything you want or need is at your fingertips!

12. Everybody was so nice to us...
They bent over backwards to make us feel at home. It is like a different world...shedding your cares and focusing on renewing yourself.

We were bopping around the whole time, of course; but it's amazing how refreshed I feel! :-)

I'm sure you'll want to do a return trip at sometime. The Disney area is always building and changing.

My last visit was exactly 10 years ago this month ~ I hadn't thought about that until now ~ time flys ~

17. We got a good deal
through AAA and paid for it all back in January. The look on my little guy's face when I told him we were going to Disney was worth the cost of the entire trip!

Has it been 10 years since your last vacation? I told my husband that we're going to have to plan something every year. It doesn't have to be fancy or expensive. A weeks worth of camping would be fine by me; but I know I can't go another 9 years without taking a week to regroup.

just not back to Disney ~ now that I think about it ~ it's been that long since I've been back to Florida and I really miss it :cry:

21. We used to visit every summer when I was a kid...
My grandparents lived there. I never cared about the humidity, because we could always hang out in the air conditioned house, or swim in their next door neighbor's pool.

But the early morning and the late afternoon were such wonderful times to take a walk...when the heat of the day had passed, and the air was perfumed with all those wonderful tropical plants. We'd go outside and catch lizards, toads, dragonflies and lightning bugs in my grandmother's garden. And until the time I was 10 years old or so, she'd remind me on a regular basis not to eat any of her Oleander flowers because they were deadly poisonous.

24. when I was a child we drove down for every long weekend
I remember having my father wake me at 2 or 3 in the morning after the car was loaded for our trip. I slept in the back seat until dawn while he was driving. I always looked forward to palm trees and freshly squeezed orange juice. My parents loved to go deep sea fishing. They were out on the boat well before the sun was up.

The flora and fauna always held my interest while I stayed on dry land.

10. It was great!
After 5 days at Disney, neither my son nor I wanted to leave. I'm glad we didn't finish our vacation there, because I would've probably been a blubbering mess of mush!

We didn't go to Disney/MGM. Timmy went on Space Mountain, but it kind of freaked him out, so we decided to keep the rides on the tame side.
My biggest thrill was watching him have such a good time. :D

We had terrific weather. The humidity wasn't nearly as intense as I expected.
