Does your movie theatre sell alcoholic beverages?
Mine does. I'm going to take my kid to see Star Wars today, and the only thing I'm looking forward to is a HUGE strawberry daquiri.

Does your theatre sell alcoholic beverages? If so, what kind?

1. Real Artways in Hartford does. They also show films which don't make it to
the big theaters. I've seen great foreign films, documentaries and best of all anime there.

I've NEVER seen alcoholic beverages for sale at an American movie theater concession stand.

I don't know if that would make the modern movie-going experience better or worse.

But, nope. No alcoholic beverages.

3. A lot of the old theatres around here
have been converted to "Draft Houses" so of course they sell beer. You can also get wine if you're happy with "vin ordinaire".

They don't show the first run movies, however, and are usually full of cigarette smoke.

11. This is a Regal theater that shows first-run, new release movies.
But it's Louisiana, where you can visit a drive-thru daquiri shop and get a monster cup of whatever flavor you like, TO GO. :D

13. This is true, however......
Such theaters do exist. http://www.mcmenamins.com/

They do have beer and wine at least. Not sure about strawberry daquiris.
Downside is that they only have one or two movies playing and Star Wars isn't one of them, at least not at present.

14. Except, of course, that that's not a theatre so much as an Inn.
But I see your point.

15. The theatre I'm talking about has first-run, new release, big films.
It's a regular theatre--it just happens to serve daquiries, for which I'm thankful...

It is in Louisiana, though. The town with the theatre still has drive-thru Daquiri Huts, where you can get a styrofoam cup full of your favorite beverage to go. :D

6. Two of ours do
wine and beer only. Although it's too expensive and might just bring my own bottle of wine if inclined.

29. It is about 3 hours from where I live.
I usually do other things while I am there other than going to the movies. It has been a few years since I've been there. Last time I believe I went to Mudd Island for a concert.

18. Here's the funny part. (sex cult in Louisiana)
The town where I'm going to see the movie is about five miles north of the church that was busted (in Ponchatoula, LA) for child molestation and bestiality.

Go figure.

24. We used to have one here that did. I really miss it...
It was great for going to the movies without our kids. You had to be over 21 to get in, there was a full service restaurant that took reservations, a bar, and lots of other niceties. The movie seats were all like leather recliner seats, and there were tables in between the seats for your food or drinks. The theater provided free soft drinks and pop corn and you could bring your desert in from the restaurant. It was awesome!!

I was so sad when it closed. It did not do enough business, apparently.

28. In Houston or Austin (maybe more places)

Alamo Drafthouse, www.alamodrafthouse.com sells beer and wine and serves full meals during the movie.

Hell of a deal too, on average you can get dinner, drinks and movie for two for about $40 total.
