So, I interviewed this guy today, for a position in the lab.

Pretty impressive. He's hired. Not easy to find good people who are also modest and easy going. That, together with the other person we are hiring means we are all set for a couple of years! I'm happy.

1. What kind of lab work do you do?

a friend of mine works at the new Novartis R&D site in Cambridge. Between the universities biotech companies, I hope job opportunities grow here. I think the Legislature overriding Romney's stem cell veto with be a boon to the research community also.

2. I'm sooo happy Romney's veto got overridden....

I'm in the radiology/brain imaging field. Part of is moving into genetics, association studies with various brain measures (cortical thickenss, all that). But most of it tries to find the neural basis of behavior and cognition.

Yeah, Romney hasn't initiated one program to create jobs in the state, and he wants to prevent funding of an initiative that could bring jobs to Massachusetts. Brilliant.

5. Yes, Alzheimer, Parkinson's, stroke recovery...

And many other neurological disorders. Lots of work left to do though. Despite all the research, understanding is still very rudimentary...

About Romney... He has not done anything... He was supposed to "market" MA to companies around the US... He's just focusing on 2008, make sure his base won't accuse him of being "against life", or something of that sort. MA should get rid of him ASAP....
