Just bought a new guitar this weekend... it rocks, so ask me anything.
But dont ask about playing guitar, since I am mainly a keyboard player.

However, I have wanted an electric for many years and finally bought myself one.

It was one of the once-in-a-life-time purchase kind of deals.....

Oh and yes, it is a piece of art. Granted it sounds great, but I am most impressed with it being much more personal (in terms of craftsmanship) than any of my high-end, mass produced, electronic keyboards.

6. If you ever get to New York
go see Les Paul at the Iridium Jazz club. He still plays live with his band on Monday nights (two shows no less).

I need to get me one of those Les Paul reissues.

13. Cool. I am afraid to tell hubby. He has always wanted a Les Paul.
He has a '57 reissue strat -- but a Les Paul would round out the collection very nicely. Congrats!

14. My favorite ex husband
had an original Les Paul gold top. He gave it away not long before he died.

GAVE IT AWAY. Not sold it for a ridiculously low price.

12. Strats are gutless ....
Compared to the super sustain of a Paul ....

Dont get me wrong: Strats are ideal for ripping fast leads .... but NOTHING compares to a Paul for pure tone ....

15. I would say Charvel is the only way to go, but
that's just my bias for them showing up. I used to work in a guitar store that sold tons of Fenders. They are nice if you want to play blues, but for rock, especially metal and other hardcore stuff, I'd say Jackson, Charvel, and Ibanez are best for playability. Oh yeah, and if you got the back muscles to hold a Gibson standing up and playing live, they kick ass too. I'm just not that physically strong. I do love the sound of a good Gibson (not Epiphone) Les Paul.

16. Here is a picture... note: Its big and not great quality.
Best I can do with a quick cam, my real camera is away today. Its hard to see the depth of color, but hopefully you get the idea.

Enjoy,
