They run for president, and they only get a few percent of the vote. Why do they even try? they have almost no members! Blah, Blah, Blah.... :rant:

the reason why 3rd party candidates come forward is because the two party system is idiotic and creates these bi-polar mood swings in US politics. most democratic governments in the world have a parliamentary system. there are too many factions in the US to be represented properly by just two parties. this is how the republicans can be in power because the democratic party is about liberty and attempts to respect many different kinds of people. point of fact: the clever introduction of the memetic to ban gay marriage by republican strategists created an excuse to have serious division between democrats. the reality is that they were trying to draw homosexuals into a severely archaic and inherently dysfunctional institution.
marriage was created to declare ownership of a woman by a man and/or track lineage of offspring. how stupid or illogical is it to track geneology on the father's side when it is quite obvious who the mother is, eh?

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, and Don Wildmon, president and founder of the American Family Association, two ardent opponents of gay rights, joined Perry on stage. Their remarks received several standing ovations and shouts of "Amen!" from a diverse crowd of about 1,000.

"We may be on the grounds of a Christian school today, but our message speaks to all who believe in standing up for the unborn, all who cherish strong traditional families regardless of party, of ethnicity or creed," said Perry. "We're here because a quiet majority decided to have their voice heard and heard loudly, that understand that families are the building blocks of civilization, who recognize that marriage must be defended because it is the glue that binds the very fabric of society." After Governor Perry signed the bills, the crowd belted out "God Bless America."
