What do you call the person who marries your brother?
A B**** - if it's the same sort of person that married mine.

6. Unfortunately - the person I am thinking of doesn't want to be any sort
of sister to her husband's family.

O well - her loss.

13. My deepest sympathies
All of my sisters-in-law, on both sides, turned out to be great people. I have four cuñadas, two on my side, two on my wife's side.

I hope, for the sake of your brother, you can be civil to your sister-in-law even when she is not. If you love your brother, do this for him.

19. Unfortunately, we no longer speak to one another.
This has been going on for years. They have a 21-yr old son whom I last saw when he was 3. They have a 16 yr. old daughter I've never seen.
This came to a head during the illness & death of our mother.

That's life, though.

21. That is very sad
I mourn your losses, your mother's and your sister-in-laws.

I offer you, as solace, this poem by a the Cuban poet and revolutionary, Jose Marti:

White Roses

I harvest only white roses,
whether in June or in January,
for sincere friends,
that extend their honest hands.

And for the cruel ones that rip,
the living heart from my chest,
neither thistle nor poison ivy do I harvest,
I harvest only white roses.

22. My husband's ex-wife... but she spelled it differently.
Life has a way of getting even. She now suffers from an autoimmune disease that will eventually criple her. Even when she was a royal pain in the, ahmm, sit upon, I wouldn't have wished that on her...

7. Unfortunate....
I feel for her, my brother is a total freep and acts like a 5 year old. I only pray that he doesn't succeed in poisoning my niece's mind (5 years old). My sister-in-law is great, it's my brother who's the problem.

31. Mentally ill
unfortunately, depression coupled with signs of childhood abuse. And I'm pretty certain she herself abuses my brother (a very kind-hearted person) and her sons.

I feel awful because most of the time I can't really stand to be around her; I feel like I'm having the life force sucked out of me.

She put up with my brother and they are doing pretty good for 30 years of marriage.

But if you asked my husband's sister what she called me, I'd bet it would be along the lines, the woman who took my "$ugar daddy" (money source) from me...go figure...
