3. I loved The Hunger soundtrack.
But, Alan Howarth is an old acquaintance from LA. (He grew up in Cleveland, too.) So, I have to go with Halloween.

Tocatta and fuge in d minor. Sorry but this is the all time best! The Phantom of the opera plays it. Captain Nemo plays it as the Nautilus is being destroyed. I play it every Halloween. everything else is not even in the same league.

12. Coil's "Hellraiser" soundtrack
The British industrial/experimental group Coil arranged a soundtrack for the 1987 movie "Hellraiser" at the behest of Clive Barker. The soundtrack was rejected by New Line Cinema for a more bombastic instrumental score. It was great.
