new members like yourself. DU always gets new members but Rush Limbaugh mentioned DU on his radio show. Lot's more folks have joined since then. Most have great things to say and are a welcome addition to DU.

We're used to hearing them all talk about how they miss the "old" board - and what a pain it is having all the "moderates" on the board. Makes one feel very unwelcome here sometimes.

I've noticed there have been a lot of posters who actually have something relevant to say, not just lurking in the Lounge to build up a post count so they could exercise their 'wit' by posting 'YOUR ALL LOOSERS, GIT OVAR IT SORE LOOSERMEN' repeatedly in GD in the middle of the afternoon.

yes I've noticed that the DU is growing. Democrats (and Social Democrats) need a place to chat and not havend to turn around and fight against blatant right wing liars like on Yahoo! politics.

I think 2004 will be one of the most important elections we've had in a long time. It's good to see people are getting involved rather than staring at the TV like drooling zombies.

I do listen to consverative talk radio quite often, mainly to observe their fallicious logic and to keep track of what the extremists are talking about, it's often hysterical but mostly disturbing. I've thought about writing a book or something on the logical fallacies of conservative talk radio, but it would be just too overwhelming--they employ them all and even invent a few of their own. Remember everyone: 1 + 1 = 3, and sometimes 4, but never 2 when it comes to non-repugs. I didn't hear what Rush had to say about DU, had better things to think about that day. I got caught onto DU from Take Back The Media. I was doing some research (google) on Michael Savage after I saw him on MSNBC one day---I fell ill and was looking for the antidote. Well, I've found it. I've been lurking at DU for a couple of months now---just joined the other day though. I'm a newbie so please be kind, at least until I reach 100 posts.

He brought up a post someone from Finland had written that was pretty awful and had ALOT of answers that said what a bs post that was.

Ofcourse Rush took that post and said it was the typical DU post :D

I am so anxious to return back to the United States because I want to get really involved with getting everyone on my street registered to VOTE and actually VOTING ! Most of the people on my street are elderly people who don't like to be bothered in going places other than the church or store - by any means possible I want to get them to the voting places . Everyone do the same !

And get those elderly out to vote, and make sure they know if they vote repuboican they WILL lose their medical help, they can be guaranteed not to have prescription care, and they can rest assured taht the younger generation, their grandchildren, will be taught nothing but how to be cogs in a factory or corporate machine and will have their social security, pensions, and medicare ripped fro them.

I joined recently because I am sick of doing nothing, and tired of hearing only the conservative BS in the mainstream press, and NAFTA sucked my job off to Canada and I need to feel as though I am trying to educate myself, others, and build a better world for my kids and grandkids.
