Steeler Fans: Myron Cope to retire.
Livetohike just gave me the heads-up on this news item. It's an end of an era for Steeler fans. For those of you not familiar with the stylings of one Mr. Kopelman, he was one of the most original sports broadcasters ever. He truly, how you say, had a voice for writing. Oh, and the Terrible Towel was his idea.

Shame to see him go. He's a hell of a writer. Did you know that he donates all proceeds from sales of the Terrible Towel to a company that provides programs for people with disabilities? I belive he has a disabled son. What a classy guy, and very entertaining!

2. Yes. I believe his son goes to the Allegheny Valley School.
When my wife and I contemplated moving back to the 'Burgh, she thought about working there.

3. Myron!
I loved that guy when I was a kid during the glory days of the 70s. I still listen to the games via radio (I'm in Texas). Truly an original - sorry to see him go.
