Edit: What, do they do this work in the buff?!

Where on earth do I find someone to do this?! I've already tapped out on Craig's List. :grr:

1. How much if you just call a trash truck?
And forget about recycling it?

2. A lot less, and I won't do it.

It's moot anyway; the landfill and recycling center are together, and are less than a mile from my house.

3. I read about recycling, and we cut back on doing it
The energy expended - all of it - in recycling objects outweighs the energy saved. It just became the politically correct thing to do (back when PC was a good thing), but now it's probably doing the environment more harm than good.

At least at the dump, if you take your stuff there, somebody might find something nice while they're shooting rats.

7. Oh, man, Bertha,
it was so long ago. I gave you the gist of it. It just changed our minds. Consider it - when things get big, like the recycling movement, energy is required to handle it, and then stuff increases exponentially, and then next thing you know, you've got a losing proposition that once made sense.

4. How much junk do you have?
$498 worth. Find some of those lawn guys. We used them to haul away a truck full of junk last year (the previous owners had dumped all sorts of used car parts 30 years ago in the back yard) and charged us $100.

Maybe two pickup trucks' worth.

I wonder if our yard guy will do it.

Most of them will take cash and then throw it in their truck and haul it off. Worked out great for us, last year.

8. Do you know anyone with a pickup truck who could
haul it to a dump for you? That's what I had to do. Only cost me $125 to haul a lot of trash out of my garage.

9. Call St. Vincent DePaul or Goodwill.
Many thrift shops will pick up donations.

Also, try putting a free ad in the paper or offering stuff to your neighbors.
