Is the Brawny guy a liberal or a conservative?


What about Dinty Moore?



I've often wondered about him too, but apparently he chooses to keep his identity a secret. Maybe he's still in the closet but refuses to come out?

There's some sort of "macho" theme going on with both, but I'm not 100 % certain what their sexual preferences or politics are.

Help me out here.

The old Brawny guy was definitely a Dem. Maybe not a particularly liberal one; his allegiances may have gotten a little shaky during the whole "Reagan Dem" period, but in his heart he's always been a Democrat. In fact, it was because of his old-school Democratic leanings during this Bush era that forced to them replace him with the metrosexual neocon tool that is the "new" Brawny man!

is a corporate shill; hawking paper products which are inferior to cloth. He clearly doesn't advocate reduce, reuse, recycle - a cloth wipe can be made simply by cutting up old clothing or linens, and then washed and reused many times.

Clearly he is a non-conserving conservative.

The Dinty Moore guy is a corporate shill hawking pre-packaged convenience food that is likely over-processed and over-salted. Not as healthy as real food.

Clearly he is also a conservative.

There really was a Dinty Moore, but I don't know his political persuasion. In a one of those "life imitates art" chain reactions, James Moore was a friend of George McManus, who cretaed the long-running cartoon "Bringing up Father" (better known as "Maggie and Jiggs" to most people). Dinty Moore's was a tavern that Jiggs frequented, and Jim Moore believed he was the model for the tavern owner. Moore subsequently opened a restaurant and started selling canned entrees. Including Stew.
