I need some positive thoughts from you all for my grandfather.

I've tried to keep this out of the Lounge, and I've tried to be strong about it, but it's weighing pretty heavily on my heart.

My grandfather has just recently survived lung cancer. On Thursday of last week, we found out he now has prostate cancer. It's in a pretty advanced stage and because of his age, they won't operate on him. (He's in his 60s). He'll be taking radiation treatments this time around. (He did chemo for the lung cancer). In light of this, he has decided not to tell my Nana for fear of making her health even worse (she's been having problems with her diabetes and has early onset Alzheimer's). I'm trying to be strong for the family, but with work and everything else going on in my life, it's really hard.

I'm not even sure you made it through this post, but if you did, I appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

compared to what you go through my "problem" is nothing. I know how it is to deal with cancer in the family. My granddad died of cancer, so did my dad,. So my thoughts are with you. I wish your granddad and your family the best. I really hope the radiation helps

at this difficult time. I went through something similar with my Mom with lung cancer and I know how hard it can be.

Know that you will get through this and know that you will be strong for your family, like your grandfather is being strong.

It sounds like you have something of your grandfathers strength in you. It will carry you.

Stay positive and never lose hope and regardless of what happens, cherish this time with your loved ones because love is the greatest healer.
