Any fans of Jules Shear?

I dug up my copy of "The Great Puzzle" and had forgotten how great it is. "Trap Door", "We Were Only Making Love", "Sad Sound of the Wind", "Make Believe", "Mystery's All Mine", "Jewel in a Cobweb": god, the whole album is great. Underrated masterpiece.

Now if I could just find a digital copy of "Phonetics" by Jules and the Polar Bears.

1. Oh yeah!!

"The Third Party" is one of the greatest albums ever made, and some of his greatest songs. He's widly underappreciated; damn, I gotta put "She Don't Understand You Know" on my overnight show tonight..

I envy you your first hearing of Jules.

Singer songwriter. Wrote "All Through The Night" for Cyndi Lauper and "If She Knew What She Wants" for The Bangles.

Booted around in a couple of bands, made several critically acclaimed but commercially ignored albums.

His early work with The Funky Kings and Jules and the Polar Bears are cult favorites. The Funky Kings recorded the original of "Slow Dancin' (Swaying To The Music)", which Johnny Rivers had a hit with.
