I lived near downtown at that time.

I heard that Marshall Mathers came to the show's rescue this year.

He's cool in my book

3. I think that's happening all over.
I'm sure Detriot's in especially deep shit, but fireworks displays all over the country are resorting to fund drives.

4. My son was at Henry Ford for a week last month.
For a city that always seems to be perceived as always being on the edge of failure, it's got a lot of energy, and a lot of very kind people. JMO.

6. I've been hearing that
Dearborn is going take the place of Detroit, because Detroit is failing. Dearborn is being built up to handle what Detroit can't anymore. The population of Detroit in 1950 was 1,850,000 and in 2000 dropped to 951,270. It's sad. Detroit is a good city. I hope it's future gets brighter.

In conjunction with the fireworks on that same old stage that they used for "The Saturday Night Music Machine" with Curtis Gatson back in the 1980's. Remember Gerry Woo? Everytime I see that stage I get nostalgic for The Music Machine.
