Group gets naked to protest bullfights

MADRID - A group of half-naked animal rights demonstrators brought Madrid’s historic Puerta del Sol square to a halt on Wednesday in a protest against bullfighting.

Shoppers gawped and tourists snapped photos as the five young women and one man carried out one of a series of protests leading up to the traditional “running of the bulls” in the northern Spanish town of Pamplona starting next week.

“Stop the Bloody Bullfights” read one sign held by the protesters, who wore only white panties and plastic bulls horns on their heads. “Torture is not art or culture” they chanted. <snip>

What is PETA thinking?

Forget cruelty to animals, it's cruelty to humans to see that man naked. Ugh.

But when anyone suggests that Donald Rumsfeld should run down the street naked that is where I draw the line.

... after wallowing all night in his own excrement. Then we could all have a nice little chat about Camp X-Ray ...

Of course we need some good looking bodies along with the majority of us. I think a bunch of old farts running around naked would not get a lot of sympathy but a large crowd of naked folks of all types gathered in one place like Golden Gate Park would attract the media.

We would need a message that is easy to get out there before we all get thrown in jail.

I would take part if enough people were willing to do it. Maybe a critical mass would keep the authorities from arresting everyone.

Cold weather makes me look like a gelding. An old, flabby gelding. An old, flabby, pale gelding. An old, flabby, pale, frog-hipped gelding.

It'd be like lying ... since I'm really Tarzan (on the inside, where it counts). :silly:

And they always get media coverage, even when they are fairly small. This is a tactic that has been proven to work, that is why people keep doing it.
