Does this really happen if you sleep in the desert?
The snake and the sleeping infant story reminded me of one of my grandfather's story.
When he was in the Army training for World War II, they went to the desert in Arizona and had to sleep in sleeping bags in the open air. Rattlesnakes crawled in their sleeping bags with them during the night to stay warm.
He didn't say anything about being bit, but if I were there, I don't know if I could have handled that, waking up with a rattlesnake sleeping on or next to me. Does this really happen? I have never went camping in the desert. I always sleep in a tent anyway. What is the proper thing to do in that situation, though? I just wondered.

2. Usually you make coffee and eggs for the rattlesnake
unless you just want him to go away.

3. My husband told me a story about
a snake getting into the sleeping bag of a fellow soldier when they were on maneuvers. So it happens.

4. Definitely happens
I've slept out in the open in the desert a few times and had no such bedparters, but it's happened to a few people I've known and met.

Yea, I shall lay down by the serpent and, behold, it shall be good and beget a new era of benevolence.

- The Bible (well, if it isn't, it should be in there somewhere...sounds like it fits)
