She is getting soooo pissed at me. I am stating verifiable facts calmly with links and she is HATING it!! It is very, very fun wiping the floor with her. We are covering everything...9/11, Iraq, WMD's. I sound calm and informed and she sounds like she is breathing fire towards invisible enemies.

This is on another board. Now she has posted that she doesn't want to talk about it anymore.:7

2. you were lucky
usually arguing with a repub is a guaranteed source of extreme aggravation. After all, there's nothing more irritating than being called a moron by an individual who's certifiably retarded.

She was claiming saddam caused 9/11 and he and osama were best buds, so if we got sadaam, we won. Also, Iraq was not about WMD's so it did not matter if we found them. Iraqi people are free. They love us but the media is not covering it. Blah Blah Blah. Most of the debate was in IM so I can't really get it back.

Here is a gem she posted on the MB. I said that there was no point in invading Iraq and we should just accept our losses and pull out.
This is her reply:
These evil beings have KILLED thousands of people in several countries so far and YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT MAKING THEM HAPPY? I got news for you... they are happy-- everytime they succeed at it that is. What is wrong with you?? ... besides being Anti-American, of course. You remind me of why I don't post here anymore. I couldn't talk about the Terri Schiavo case, but Anti-American sentiments are OK?

This was my reply to that little gem:
We shouldn't have been in Iraq in the first place. We had BinLaden and AlQaeda in our sights in October 2001. We outsourced the job to the Afghani soldiers, who had been our enemy just a few weeks before. We lost them.

This is just one of the horrible foreign policy blunders. We switched our attention to Iraq, which was like amputating a leg because of a sore tooth. At that time, there were no links to Iraq and Al Qaeda. Due to our misadventures looking for non-existant WMD's, and the ensuing hundreds of thousands of lives lost for no reason, AlQaeda had the perfect chance to recruit. Now we are where we are. Iraq is a Quagmire. It is a failure. We should never have been there. We lost our focus on the War on Terror because of a personal vendetta planned long before 9/11. They wanted Iraq. They just needed an excuse to invade. What a group of monumental failures our leaders are.

There are many with blood on their hands today.

Do not dare to call me Anti-American. I fight for the ideals of this country every day. I only wish our "leaders" would do the same.

It is a shame that logic and truth gets in their way.

6. A link would be great
if it's possible and you don't mind. It could be a good lesson on how to debate successfully.

9. you still debate with them???
Wow, I gotta hand it to you. It's like arguing with a drunken father-in-law...

I no longer debate them. It's always more fun to flip them a dismissive one finger salute and blow them a kiss if they start in with their infinite cliche loop. Or, if they are born-againers, just mock their religion for a while. Eventually they either start to cry or turn away red faced and ready to burst a vein.

14. I learned years ago to just ignore them. When they start their Rush
Limbaugh endless tape loop I just get up and leave the room. I'd rather talk to a wall - a wall has qualities that are far more worthwhile, endearing, and enduring.

chased this one neocon around and around...I think he raises his head and looks both ways for me before he pops off some asinine opinion now. That's the way they are, 'don't confuse me with the facts'. what rational creature would listen to Rush Limbaugh? Seriously.

13. We have a mega "ditto head" at my work....
....he use to open his pie hole all the time regurgitating Rush Limpball talking points, UNTIL I started calling him out on everything. Now he remains silent, at least around me, that's all that really matters.
