I was born in the Midwest, and am living here still.

It's got it's good points.

It's got it's bad points.

Nothing I'd get that worked up about though,

except maybe the weather.

That wind you've got where you're living.

You call that wind?

I was in Gatlinburg, TN, three years ago. It was a freak thing.

Sure, it's a little active, but the New Madrid - now THAT'S a fault line. Last time that sucker got active, it rang the bells in Boston.

8. And how many hundreds of miles per hour do their winds blow?

Around here for hurricane force winds 60mph. to 70mph. they don't even blow the sirens. Hurricanes for us would just be called rain storms with strong winds.

Have you ever seen or felt one of these close up?

I was in it in 4th grade. We get tornados all spring long.

Elvis did a benefit for the residents of my county after the big tornado 20 years ago..the big one as in it wiped out most of the city nearby.

Tornado warnings don't scare me as much as a dead hit from a hurricane.

5. Native Nebraskan here...Still a midwesterner

Grew up in Lincoln, been in Los Angeles for 14 years. Just got back from my annual July 4th visit back home.

I will say this. Folks back home still know how to celebrate this great nation's birth: with tons of illegal fireworks. Big fan of Nebraska and the Midwest in general. Weather is the major plus to not living there. How is it possible to have more than %100 humidity. And windchills WAAAAY below zero in the winter? Gotta say I don't miss that.

But damn, the folks are nice, the streets are clean and the gas is cheap. I don't live there now but I'll always be a proud Nebraskan.

12. Hell, yeah.

You get ample warning for hurricanes. They're getting better at tornadoes. Just a severe thunderstorm can cause lots of damage. We get the worst of the North and the South. Ice storms really suck. So does 98� temps with 110% humidity.
