HELP! Stupid computer problem...
All of a sudden, my tab button doesn't work within a program. I can't tab from box to box (and entering medical information, this is a real hardship.) Instead, it throws me to the next program I have running, but minimized. So if I'm working on our work software and hit tab, it brings up AOL.

I'm sure I stupidly hit something and changed what tab means to the computer, but how do I change it back?

1. Look for Sticky Keys
Under the Control Panel -> Accessibility option. Sounds like it is keeping your ALT key on.

7. This will sound like a stupid solution, but...
have you tried re-booting? That happens to me in Xcel once in a while, probably when I accidentally hit the wrong combination of keys. Only way out that I know of is to reboot.

If you tried that and it didn't work, can I ask which application you are using? Is it on a network or on your PC? If network, do you access it through Terminal Server or ICA or ???

Press each ALT key several times. Ditto CTRL (both), though sound like one of ALTs.

9. Sometimes,
these setting changes happen at random, even on my Mac, and especially with Microsoft apps. Beyond that, can't help, since I do avoid Microsoft products when I can.

10. I had this exact problem once
as if the pc 'thinks' the ALT key is held down

a reboot did the trick, if you haven't heard that 1,000 times yet :-)

17. Oddly enough it is laundry day so I am going with a different strategy
Boxer briefs. I really bought them to run in (after trying them on I don't think so) and since all the regular starting line up are "injured reserve" I tried them today. I feel like I'm not wearing any 'roos.

The "cycle length" will do for running.
