3. I know, she is only 15!
Just amazing for anybody to play that well at her age, let alone a female. Good for her. She needs a birdie in her last 3.

5. I've been playing for years, too, and I can't come close to her.
Then again, she's 6'2" and I'm 5'8". Also, she's a lot more talented than I am, too. :D

19. It's bonus coverage
CNBC used to air the Champion's Tour, but these are just ABC's announcers. CNBC is getting a few viewers for a while cashing in on Wie-mania. :)

20. I suppose so.
For someone her age to come this close to the cut is just amazing, though.

I wish she made it!!

23. I can understand that.
I've thought that she needs to learn how to win first, and that means competing against other young women her age as well. PLaying well and making cuts is one thing, but when you're in position to win, you need to know how to do it. So, while I think it's really cool that she was this close, I hope she will also play some junior events and win those. Because, actually, the #1 junior women's player is not Michelle.

25. I have mixed feelings
I think every so often it is good for her to try a PGA event, but that she should focus on the Women's events.

She birdied 9 yesterday. If she misses by one that will suck.

7. I read Babe Didrikson Zaharias biography and got hooked on Golf
years ago and then dropped the game -- but have returned to my old love -- Golf!

12. I always pretty much sucked at golf
My father is big time into it. I grew up with football as first love, softball as second. So, once I started golf lessons, my patience was pretty much shot. I didn't have any finesse.

24. My long game (Drive, woods, long irons) was crap
so I gave up. But now with the new equipment -- and newer training methods I've made dramatic improvements and my Slice is almost gone.

I love the "short" game -- the chip shots etc and the putting. I just never could put together a whole game.

Also the mental training part of the game has improved -- Sports Psychology -- the work in Sports Psychology was stated at San Jose State and I took a golf class (college level) which compared two training methods. Coach Bud Winters was a coach for Olympic athletes -- that was a long long time ago. (SJSU began Sports Psychology and was highly involved in the first Earth Day -- plus was an organizer of the Vietnam era anti war protests).

Since getting back into the game of Golf -- I've found that the equipment has improved dramatically to the point where golf is again fun.

An excellent DVD about the mental part of the game -- plus some good golf pointers - "Coach54" with coaches Lynn Marriott and Pia Nilsson -- both were recently listed on the 100 top coaches in Golf Digest -- coaches chosen by other coaches.

And lastly -- you can imagine that the golf ball has a name . . . and hit the ball solidly . . . displacing one's aggression in a socially acceptable way.

There's a little stationary golf swing training device -- which give immediate feed back about the quality of your swing. Whacking that "named" ball repeatedly -- is good for my soul.
