3. Iced coffee of the day. Sugar and all of that is awful on hot days.
Keep it cool and simple. More refreshing that way. :-)

5. Iced double espresso ('iced doppio" in Starbucks parlance)
Edited on Sat Jul-09-05 10:48 AM by swag
Make sure they use a "tall" plastic cup, and ask them to fill the cup to the top with ice once the shots are poured. Then head over to the fixins bar, fill the rest of the cup with nonfat milk. Then head back to the barrista, wave the cup in her/his face and taunt him/her with:

"Ha ha, suckers. I just got an iced grande nonfat latte for the price of an iced doppio. Put that in your Green Apron Book and smoke it!"

It will be a satisfying coffee experience for you.

That's how to hack Starbucks, lesson one.

7. My suggestion
A real coffee shop! Locally owned, a little funky, a community resource. Try ordering that!

Oh god I hate starbucks! If I continue I will start using profanity and this early in the morning that would just be unseemly.

Bastards! I hate them!

Khash.

9. make your own latte at home:
Edited on Sat Jul-09-05 10:56 AM by flordehinojos
1 cup of milk to the point of boiling if you like it really hot.
1 teaspoon of INSTANT NESCAFE in the cup.
????? spoons of sugar in the cup = sugar to taste.

when the milk is warm, or hot, or boiling (whichever you prefer) pour into the cup. stir the coffee and sugar mixture. (drop in a marshmellow or two, or none, as you prefer) drink and enjoy!

(i used to make my own latte with espresso coffee (Café Bustelo) until i tried it with the INSTANT NESCAFE ... even my neighbor drinks it now ... if you decide to give it a try you might like it).

20. My sentiments EXACTLY!!
("Ill pretend you did not say "Instant" :)").

Without going into all the details, my little kitchen is BUILT around coffee. Four varieties of WHOLE BEANS. Espresso machine with it's own grinder set for espresso grind, and another grinder for all the other coffee devices. Just recently, I got one of those little Vietnamese drip devices that goes on top of the coffee cup, and some condensed milk to make it "Saigon" authentic. On the wall is a organic chemistry building block model of the Caffein Molecule. Instant??? .... NEVER!!

But getting back to the quiz ... Why NO Americano (double tall)???

I love something full bodied yet smooth. Yes I'm addicted to having that every morning. After having that no way I'm going back to the run of the mill stuff.

29. I love it, have a grande cup every morning.
Now I could get free coffee in the break room in my department but the pots are never fresh when I go in there, and I hate powdered creamer.

So I spend the money and by the Starbucks in the cafeteria.

Love it

31. I don't leave the house without my 2-3 cups
in the morning. There's just something about the taste that just suits me so well. I fell in love with the flavor the moment I sampled it at the Starbucks I strolled into. When I get to the coffee in my office unless I made it myself it's gone bad from sitting there for hours. So I normally make all my Starbucks at home.
