What does that do?

is determined by the time of day you took your very first little breath (usually an exhalation-waah). It's whichever of the 12 signs was on the eastern horizon when one's birth occurred. Over the course of every day each sign is rising for an approximate 2 hour interval.

It's believed to represent one's frame of reference, self image, appearance, identity issues, self esteem, and world view.

If you know your birth time there are lots of sites that cast charts for free.

I don't know the exact details of my chart but I had a friend do it up through the Internet.

Anyways the rising is called the Ascendant, it is shown as what is rising on the horizon on the day you were born. Think of a circle cut into four quarters. On the left would be your Ascendant, on your right would be your Descendant. Typically in Astrology the Ascendant determines your personality and physical characteristics, the Descendant I can't remember too well I think determines the subconsciousness, I'll have to go back and look. Anyways I have a Pisces Ascendant which means that I have a Piscean personality traits in addition to everything else on my chart. The Ascendant is probably the most single important part in the natal chart, then the other is the Midheaven which I believe has to do with how you handle finances and your career. I have Sagittarius in my midheaven which I think means that I am flighty with my money. I don't know about my career but it has something to do with leadership and ideas. Like I said I can't remember much but you could go to astrology sites and get some information. One that I know of is http://www.astrology.com

gives soooo much more insight into personalities and how well they mesh. For example, I'm a Leo with a Scorpio moon, and a Capricorn rising. My husband is a Scorpio sun/Capricorn moon/Leo rising. My daughter is a Capricorn sun/Scorpio moon/Leo rising. We three get along like a house on fire and I'm convinced we're so similar because of the fact that there are only three signs involved in those parts of our horoscopes.

Am I right about this? DU astrologers out there, I'd love to have your opinions on this if you have the time.

In the Chinese system, I'm a pig, the last sign. If you made a chart with the x axis as the western and the y axis as the eastern, I'd be 144th out of 144.

up on my doorstep tommorow and ask me out, I might consider sharing propetry and raising pets with that person. Yes, after one meeting. Libras and Taureans are destined for each other. There's nothing else in the zodiac like the Taurus/Libra bond. It is famous. The two people with whom I have been closest in the world? Libras. I really dislike most people I meet on the street, but I have plans to like GLUE myself to the next admitted Libra I meet. I miss having that bond with someone.

And do you take into account the Earth's procession? How does all this fit in with the changeover from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar?

Scorpio rising. I love (almost) everything about my astro profile. I recently had my whole natal chart calculated and there were a few nasty surprises. Namely, I have a moon in Capricorn (2nd House), like Hitler and Barbara Bush. That has me really concerned. Supposedly, people with moon in Capricorn are really cold hearted and sometimes cruel. Also, in the second house, moon in Capricorn may indicate a predisposition to aggression, passive aggression on violence.
