The Gym and Fox News
I recently started going to a Golds gym to workout. After taking a look at the TVs they had there, I noticed that they all had Fox News on them. There was about 15 TVs too.

Anyone else noticed this at a gym?

1. The Gold's I work out at has about 5 TVs. One is always on Fox News.
One is on MSNBC, one is on ESPN, one is on CNN, the other sorts of floats depending on time of day...

3. My YMCA has it on, too.
That, or MSNBC, which, lousy as it is, is infinitely better than Faux.

5. 4 TVs.
Three in the cardio area - 2 have local news and the 3rd, usually the middle one, has CNBC (yeech). The other in the weight area has another local news station, Boston BTW.

A guy is there when it opens and puts on CNBC and does cardio. He then does weights and if no one is overtly watching the 4th, he changes it to CNBC. When I'm done, I goto cardio and I change CNBC to VH1. Not my music style, but no one complains - hard to do wind sprints while listening to some moran explain how another tax cut will help America.

6. This is another reason I tend to workout to my own music...
...well, music that I bring myself, not that I compose. :silly:

I can't stand hearing the talking heads, and the music is more inspiring anyway.

7. FOX is on at my gym too
A private local club, not a chain. :wtf: Anyway, when I go in, I ask for the remote and change it to HGTV or Discovery. Hey, I get there early and have my choice.

You should see all these big beefcakey guys sweatin' to Christopher Lowell! Love it! Courtesy demands that you not change the channel if someone is actually watching a particular show. That works both ways you know. Make it work for you!

9. I don't go to a gym
So I have to carry the TV with me on my runs (it's easier on the bike) and continually replug in as I make my trip. I get some odd looks from the home owners. The cops used to stop me all the time,

Seriously, my barbershop has it on.
