Who Was Your Favorite on "Gilligan's Island"?

the Professor's brother lived in my home town when I was young, and my mom knew him (the brother) through the local theater group ... she got me an autographed picture from the Professor, which I have to this day!

Though most seme to go for MaryAnn.....she was definitely nice, too, though.

I guess it was the Marilyn Monroe thing about Ginger that got my (little boy's) collar all hot and steamy....

Who played the Japanese Submariner who didn't know the war was over on at least 2 separate occassions. Now there was a funny, funny man.

But Mary Ann remains my personal archetype for "nice girls".

farm girl. Not me. I was hot for Ginger. Pure and wholesome is nice enough, but give me glamour! Give me cleavage! Give me that breathy Marilyn Monroe voice! Ginger, all the way, man!

She also had the better lines.

The two most popular "Gilligan;s Island" characters (according to our poll) are the two who were not even mentioned in the original theme song - they were simply lumped together as "and the rest".

On edit: I reread your post and saw that you said the original theme song...that would be right--but the theme song did change to include them.

BTW....a couple of years ago Dawn Wells did a 'reunion' show, and there were a lot of things mentioned that weren't known before. But for me the best part was seeing that Dawn hadn't seen the ravages of time or gravity. From what I understand, she is just as nice in person, as she was on the screen. :wow:

I always thought that if you really wanted to torture someone, lock them in a room and force them to watch hour after hour of Gilligan's Island.
