Rhino just put out a 3-disc retrospective of her career, including many non-album and previously unreleased tracks. :woohoo:

I sent an email to the radio station I listen to at work yesterday because they played Danny's Allstar Joint, which is another of my favs on that album....

Her first release was IMO one of the best popular recordings ever. Her later work is uneven, or maybe I haven't listened to it enough. But she still sounds good even recording jingles about baked goods.

Only commercial I know that contained her voice was for the new Beetle, and that was a sample of her talking about fluffy clouds that The Orb used in a song.

15. Her acitvism is what inspired her to start writing songs again.
I got to know her fairly well via IM a few years ago, when she was entirely uninspired and suffering from writer's block. Then when W stole the first election, she got really mad, and that started her creative juices flowing.
