2. Empire definately
I, II and III feh

IV close

Empire just the right balance between action, drama, and comedy. Plus "I am your father."

VI the ewoks and orignal music ending, a sign of jar jar binks to come. And when Luke takes off DV's mask. That Brit actor so did not cut it!

6. "Empire," but I do wonder if "Sith" will dethrone it in a decade
Episode V has the lyricism and the best ensemble.

Episode III has the profundity and the single best performance (McDiarmid).

As it stands (from best to worst):

V
III
IV
I
II
VI

8. I love ya, but there's no way "Jedi" is better than "Sith"
Forsake that nostalgia, ColoradoDem: "Return of the Jedi" consists of 30 minutes of superlative material (speeder bike chase; space battle; Vader/Luke/Palpatine confrontation) amid a sea of mediocrity. Ask yourself: can you actually sit through the first act without groaning (Jabba the Muppet), or the better part of the second (the Care Bears Adventure on Endor) for that matter?

"Sith" makes "Jedi" look like bantha fodder.

9. "Empire" but I still like "Return" almost as much.
Not the most popular, I know. Then "Revenge" coming in third with "A New Hope" fourth. *sigh* I and II rounding out the last spots...

11. I can't decide...
In the original trilogy my faves are "Empire Stikes Back" and "Return Of The Jedi", and in the new trilogy "Revenge Of The Sith" is my fave. All I have to say, is that ROTS was like Heaven to me, because I'm a huge Palpatine fan, Palpatine was always my favorite Star Wars character, since I first saw ROTJ, but now I'm even bigger a fan.

12. Palpatine rocks
And with "Revenge of the Sith," Palpatine has joined the pantheon of genre villains. Hell, his rendition of the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise is probably the best scene in the entire SW saga.

14. Most definately!
I like 3-6 sort of equally, but for different reasons. I thought 1 and 2 were sort of lacking in character, or at least character development. I just didn't care as much about the characters in those.

4, was just classic. It was what first made me love Star Wars. After Empire, I remember the heated debate over whether Vader was actually Luke's father. I thought Vader was lying! I liked Jedi for the theme of redemption.

I thought the character development for Palpatine in ROTS was extremely clever and very deep. He seemed to have his hand in everything, including possibly Anakin's birth. Best screen villain since Hannibal, to me.

15. "Hardware Wars" made by some UCLA film students in the late 70's..
One of the funniest parodies I've ever seen.
