Cheating lovers snap up greetings cards for adulterers

Their affairs may be clandestine but adulterers can now express their feelings through new greeting cards specially created for love cheats.

Cathy Gallagher, a happily married former advertising executive from suburban Maryland, said that the response to her Secret Lover Collection has been "phenomenal".

There are 24 cards, their messages specially written "to capture and express the unique emotional bond and intensity between lovers involved in this type of relationship". "I would have rather had one breath of her hair, one kiss of her mouth, one touch of her hand than an eternity without it," gushes one card, quoting the actor Nicolas Cage in the film City of Angels.

If many of the words are similarly wistful - "You will never leave where you are, until you decide where you would rather be" or "Now I can't imagine life without you… Even if I have to share you" - one card goes so far as to encourages its recipient to leave his or her other half. "Let's live our lives toget-her and finally be one," it reads. "Let's start living our lives for 'us'."
