"What about the Victim" re: Kobe (yeah I know yet another thread)
I keep reading these "what about the victim" posts, attacking anyone who dares side with Kobe. Menawhile I'm thinking "what victim?" Kobe is innocent until proven guilty, and none of us have been shown anything that says there even is a victim. It's not like she got shot and we just don't know who did it yet, at least then you are 99% sure a crime actually took place (wound).

I was watching an interview with Marcia Clark (sp?) the lady from the OJ case. She was saying that in many cases of rape there is no physical evidence that a rape took place. Kobe, she pointed out, admitted that they slept together so their would need to be bruises on the victim body and the room would be in fairly bad shape.

Now I don't know about you people but I have yet to hear anything about any injuries or busted up hotel rooms. Yeah I know the evidence won't be discussed yadda yadda yadda but with her friends blabbing to the media about "Kobe's press conference made her sick" you'd think one little teeny tiny detail would come out.

If any of you have heard anything about evidence please let me know. I hate to think that anyone would claim rape in a case where it had not occured but you have to admit in this case there *IS* motive to do so. Unless of course you don't consider a large amount of money to be motive.

Innocent until proven guilty is important and in this case we know Kobe was there so there is no chance that she is a victim AND Kobe is innocent. So until I see some hard facts there is no victim in this case.

*steps into fireproof 'saferoom' and locks the door*

1. I think the best approach would be
for everyone to just stop talking about it until it at least goes to trial.

between hero worshoppers who just KNOW he is innocent and those who believe all men should be castrated, there is not a hell of a lot of objectivity about this case.

Since none of us know a damn thing about any of the details what is the point in discussing it.

Oh, and a woman can very well be raped without a single mark upon her. I hope to god we are beyond the days of "she better fight for her life" or she was jut asking for it.

This is my first and last post on this case until it comes to trial. Flame Away.

3. Flame Away?
No way, that was a very reasonable post.

4. I won't flame
But, as I've said twice already here today...the DA in Colorado took 2 weeks to bring charges. TWO WEEKS. He said he had to look long and hard at all angles, from the evidence to statutes before deciding there was enough evidence to charge Kobe beyond a reasonable doubt. They are not going to tip their hand on what the exact evidence is that they have. Obviously they have SOMETHING to go and not just the "word" of this woman or he would not have been charged with sexual assault. My gripe in this entire thing is that, first of all, it's making friggin headlines every single day. This guy is just another filandering, spoiled, over paid athlete who thinks his shit don't stink. Whether or not the evidence goes with him or against him, he will come out smelling like a rose, endorsements and career intact. This woman, on the other hand, has already been villified and her life is shit, no matter whether the charges are proved or disproved.

Enough alreay, please. We have so much more to discuss here than this.

2. all i know is...
after O.J., no smart district attorney would level charges against a superstar unless s/he had definitive proof of a serious crime.
the rape kit and other hospital evidence must be beyond a shadow of a doubt, imho.
the rape kit evidence is not subjective or in any way based on opinion.
