I've been offered a speaking gig!

On May 21, 2004, I'll be speaking in public on politics for the very first time (if you don't count being a Dean Meetup organizer) on the topic of the National Motto, The Pledge, and the Separtion of Church and State for our local Americans United Group!

Indy DUers, I hope you can turn out for it!

(ehhh...who am I kidding? I'm the VP of our local chapter...BUT I did get the gig based on my letter to the Editor on those topics that was in NUVO a few months back so some skill was involved with landing the gig.)

that I was a cheerleader in elementary school. Yes, this is Texas and we have elementary school football teams here.

So yes, I actually still own a pair of pom poms. *slinks off to dark corner to hide from the inevitable backlash from my feminist sisters* :-)

On a personal note, you should've seen kevsand speaking at the Recall Bush rally early this week! He was getting heckled by some GOP kids and he got fired up and chewed shrub up one side and down the other! Talked about all the stuff shrub lied about--and in the midst of it all was 9/11!!! I about fell over!! After all this time, my husband was standing there using the stuff I've given him from DU!!!

Besides knowing you and liking you personally, I think you are part of the warp and woof of DU. I can't imagine this place without you here...

There are so many folks on here that have come to be so important to us all, however, you are one of the ones that seems to have everyone enchanted. I feel lucky every day for DU, but it wouldn't be the same without you!
