The White House thanked me for Emailing pResident bush
Should I be concerned that they have my Email address now? Will they now have a file on me?

Thank you for e-mailing President Bush. Your ideas and comments are very important to him.

Because of the large volume of e-mail received, the President cannot personally respond to each message. However, the White House staff considers and reports citizen ideas and concerns.

TRANSLATION:

_e don't give a shit _hat you think.

Because of a lack of familiarity _ith the English Language, the President cannot personally respond to each message. Your message has been deleted _ithout being read.

And _e're still pissed that you stole all the \/\/'s from our keyboards, ass_ipe!

My Email (special thanks to Planned Parenthood):

I am outraged that you have just signed the so-called Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003. This ban is dangerous and reckless. It contains absolutely no exceptions for when the health of the woman is at risk.

In all cases women and doctors - not politicians - must be able to choose the best and safest medical treatment. It is unthinkable that you would sign a bill that would put doctors in jail for providing the best and safest health care to women. This is clearly about politics, and not about helping women.

If you really want to make abortion rare, you should expand access to family planning, not impose harmful bans that threaten women's health. We do not want to return to the days when women had to seek unsafe and deadly back-alley abortions.

Sincerely,

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

2. It's not like West Wing, is it?
Like when Donna tells Josh he got a bunch of phone calls and Emails complaining about one thing or another and they take action on it. No, not like that at all.

5. Yeah, that's true
My congresswoman gave a written reply and signed it in blue ink! It was a form response, but that was fine. I felt all special inside.

6. mine, too
he wrote my name in next to the form saluation and signed in ink at the bottom...I think that means you are on their list of "power constituants" people who write frequently...Or maybe I have delusions of grandure....

9. Hey, Wayne Allard emailed me today.
Dear Mr. *****:

Thank you for contacting me regarding S. 1689, the President's $87 billion funding request for military operations and reconstruction in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Congress finalized and approved this request on November 3, 2003.

The United States has deployed over 120,000 troops to Iraq and Afghanistan, including nearly 10,000 from Fort Carson, Colorado. President Bush ordered U.S. troops to these countries in order to remove the terror regimes that were in power and to protect the people of these countries until a new government could be established. I supported the President's decision and strongly believe the people of both countries are better off as a result.

With our victories, however, came an obligation to help the people of Iraq and Afghanistan recover from the decades of abuse and brutality. The President recognized this obligation and has ordered U.S. troops to provide security and requested funding for reconstruction projects. Again, I supported these decisions and believe that our investment in these countries today will have a positive impact on the future stability in the region tomorrow.

I remain grateful for the brave and courageous service our men and women of the U.S. armed forces have provided our country. Their commitment and dedication to our country's security has never been more evident. The Senate's approval of the President's request is the least the Senate could do to express for their efforts in the fight against terror and to get them all home as quickly as possible.

Again, I thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Your views are
important to me. Please keep in touch.

Sincerely,

Wayne Allard
United States Senator

4. Heck those jackasses probably already have the e-mail address of
every single one of us who post here.

That auto-response is what you get everytime you send Snarfy an e-mail about anything. I have a collection of them. And I'll bet that all of my e-mails were taken off the fax machine and deposited straight in the round file. Oh well, what do you expect from people who are, as we speak, devising totally illegal and wasteful ways of spending $87 million of our our money.
