Do people in New York city live in the same universe as the rest of us?
I'm in the midwest, just started working for a company whose central office is in New York city. I've been to NYC a half dozen times, so I get the picture, generally speaking. But every time I talk to them I have a feeling that worlds are colliding... a very different culture to say the least.

1. No
And if you think they do, you have never been to NY City.

2. It's its own world. Yes.
I grew up in New York state, and it was STILL another world over there, one we dare not visit.

But in the years since, I've come to see that NYC is about the greatest place in the world.

3. I live in NYC, should
I feel dissed or complimented by your comment,"...I have a feeling that worlds are colliding...?"

4. When the work day is over according to the clock
do you think its time to go home? In the midwest we do. But even though the folks in NYC have a more difficult commute... they're always there. The work day is never over, there are just occasional breaks to sleep and change clothes...

5. NYC is a world unto
itself. Many more people live there than many entire states. More goes on there than just about any place in the world. It's just about the greatest place in the world too, brimming with life all the time.

6. It's definitely "different," but it's a great city.
I'm planning on moving there in a year.
